Early Life and CareerAlexander Ivanovich Arutyunov was a renowned Soviet neurosurgeon. After graduating from university, he commenced his surgical career at the Nartas Regional Hospital in the Mari ASSR.

Arutyunov made significant contributions to surgical practice. He pioneered the subfrontal approach to the sellar region, facilitating complex operations on basal brain structures, such as meningiomas, craniopharyngiomas, and pituitary tumors.
Treatment Advancements
He played a pivotal role in establishing surgical approaches for treating hemorrhagic strokes. Arutyunov also devised a method for administering antibiotics via intraventricular injections in surgical interventions for tuberculous meningitis and brain abscesses.
Hypertensive Disorders
