Early Life and Education
Alexey Mochanov was born on January 18, 1969, in Kyiv, Ukraine, to archaeologist Yuriy Oleksiyovych Mochanov. After completing his secondary education, he went on to graduate from the Historical Faculty of Yakutsk State University with a degree in Archaeology.
Military and Law Enforcement Career
Mochanov served in military reconnaissance for the border service and later with the OMON (Special Purpose Police Unit) and the State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) in Kyiv. From 1994 to 1995, he worked as a stuntman for the Russian television station ORT.
Auto Racing and Journalism Career
Mochanov began actively participating in auto racing in 1996. He became an automotive expert for Ukraine's First National Television Channel and an active advocate for motorsports. Since 1995, he has worked as a test driver, conducting automotive evaluations for Ukrainian and Russian electronic and print media.
Mochanov has also contributed to various automotive magazines, including "Motor News," "Signal," "Drive," "Automobili," "Kommersant," "Autoreview," and "Autosport." He has hosted several automotive-related television programs on Ukrainian and Russian channels, including "UT-1," "Inter," "STB," "1+1," "TВС," "Tonis," and "Perviy Avtomobilny."
Racing Team Ukraine
In 2006, Mochanov founded Racing Team Ukraine, the Ukrainian national team for circuit racing. The team achieved notable success in the German VLN series, becoming Vice Champions in the overall standings.
Political Involvement
Mochanov was an active participant in the Euromaidan protests in 2013-2014. After the start of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine, he became one of the organizers and active participants in the volunteer movement, making numerous trips to the conflict zone. He also served as the leader of the VO "Democrats" political party.

2006: First full season in VLN series
2008: 3rd place in the combined SP1-SP2 class at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, VLN series champion in the SP2 class
