Early Life and Political Career

Alfredo Biondi, an Italian politician and lawyer, was born in Pisa. His political career began in 1968 when he was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies. He served in this capacity until 1972, and then again from 1983 to 2006.

Leadership in the Italian Liberal Party

From 1985 to 1986, Biondi was Secretary of the Italian Liberal Party. Later, he became President of the party. During this time, he played a significant role in shaping the party's policies and direction.

Ministerial Appointments

Biondi's political career extended beyond the legislative branch. He served as Minister of Justice in Silvio Berlusconi's first government in 1994. In the 1980s, he also held the position of Minister of Ecology.

Foundation of the Union of the Center

In 1994, Biondi co-founded the Union of the Center, a small faction within the newly formed Forza Italia party, alongside Raffaele Costa, the last leader of the Italian Liberal Party.
