Biogarphy of Alla Beknazarova

Alla Beknazarova is a Ukrainian figure skater who specialized in ice dancing. She began skating at the age of 5 and formed a partnership with Vladimir Zuev in 2005. Prior to that, Beknazarova competed in the junior category with Yuriy Kocherzhenko and Sergey Verbilko. Verbilko and his partner Anna Zadorozhnuk emerged as Beknazarova/Zuev's main competitors in the Ukrainian team.

In 2006, Beknazarova and Zuev placed 4th in their first joint Ukrainian Championship. Following the 2006 Olympics in Torino, two leading Ukrainian ice dance duos, Elena Grushina/Ruslan Goncharov and Yulia Golovina/Oleg Voiko, retired from competitive skating. This opened up an opportunity for Beknazarova/Zuev to participate in the World Championships, where they finished 24th. Despite this setback, the duo went on to win two consecutive gold medals in the national championships in 2007 and 2008.

Beknazarova and Zuev trained in Kharkiv, where Beknazarova moved from Odessa to train under Galina Churilova. In 2008, Natalia Linichuk and Gennady Karponosov joined their coaching team. Under their guidance, Beknazarova/Zuev achieved their greatest success, earning a bronze medal at the 2009 Winter Universiade in Harbin.

After a disappointing Olympic season in 2009-2010, Zuev, who had long been plagued by a leg injury, decided to retire from amateur skating. Beknazarova then teamed up with her former partner and rival, Sergey Verbilko. However, their partnership lasted only a week as the Ukrainian Figure Skating Federation did not support their collaboration due to financial issues. Verbilko remained in Moscow, while Beknazarova returned to her hometown of Odessa and began exploring options for continuing her career.
