Ana Blandiana: A Romanian Poet and Dissident
Ana Blandiana is a Romanian poet and essayist.Early Life and Influences
Born to a priest father who spent many years in prison under communist rule and an accountant mother, Blandiana's early life was shaped by her father's imprisonment. She adopted the pseudonym "Blandiana" from her mother's ancestral village in Transylvania, Alba county.
