Biography of Anar Mamedkhanov
Anar Mamedkhanov, the captain of the KVN team "Parni iz Baku," was an Azerbaijani public figure and a deputy of the Milli Mejlis (National Assembly) in its first, second, and third convocations. He was born on July 20, 1970, in Baku. Mamedkhanov completed his education in Baku Secondary School No. 160 and then enrolled in the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Azerbaijan State University in 1987. In 1988, he established the famous team "Parni iz Baku" and became the president of the Baku City KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive People) in 1991. Anar Mamedkhanov was the youngest deputy in the history of Azerbaijan. He was elected three times to the Milli Mejlis from the 1st Surakhani constituency No. 19 in 1995, 2000, and 2005 as an independent candidate. Mamedkhanov was the champion of the KVN Highest League in 1992, a finalist in the KVN Highest League in 1993, the winner of the Summer Cup of KVN in 1995, and the champion of the tournament of the top ten teams of the XX century in 2000.
Contributions and Achievements
Anar Mamedkhanov played a significant role as one of the organizers of the first World Championship in "What? Where? When?" held in Baku in 2002. He dedicated his life to promoting the development of comedy and intellectual games in Azerbaijan.

In 2007, Anar Mamedkhanov appeared in the film "Once in the Caucasus" (Azerbaijan-Russia) directed by D. Imamverdiyev, where he portrayed the president of the Baku Club of Author's Song.
Anar Mamedkhanov passed away in Baku at the age of 41 due to heart problems. He was a father to one son and two daughters. A film titled "Captain" was made about Anar Mamedkhanov.
