Biography of Anastasia Gimazetdinova

Anastasia Gimazetdinova is an Uzbek figure skater who competed in the singles category. She currently resides in Pervouralsk, Russia. Gimazetdinova began her figure skating journey at the age of 5 when her parents enrolled her in the skating section. Her first coach was Natalya Serebrennikova at the Ural Trubnik Sports School in Pervouralsk. From 1993 onwards, she trained under the guidance of Igor Ksenofontov. At the age of 13, she achieved the master of sports standard and consistently ranked among the top three in the Russian Cup stages from 1993 to 1995. Gimazetdinova participated in two Russian Championships before representing Uzbekistan's national team from 1997 onwards.

Achievements

Despite her stylish choreography, Gimazetdinova's performances at international competitions often resulted in lower rankings. Her highest achievements on the international stage include an 8th place finish at the Four Continents Championships in 1998 and a 19th place finish at the World Championships in 2007. In 2005, she secured a 7th place finish at the Karl Schäfer Memorial, earning her a spot in the Winter Olympic Games in Turin, where she placed 29th. She also won a gold medal at the 2008 Asian Championships.

Olympic Journey

At the 2009 Nebelhorn Trophy, a qualifying event for the 2010 Olympics, Gimazetdinova placed 14th and was unable to secure an Olympic spot for Uzbekistan. However, due to several nations declining their Olympic quotas in women's singles, Uzbekistan eventually received a spot and Gimazetdinova joined the team for the Games. She finished in 23rd place at both the Olympics and the subsequent World Championships.

Post-Competitive Career

Although Gimazetdinova initially stated that the Olympic season would be her last, she later participated in the Winter Asian Games. Unfortunately, she had to withdraw from the competition after the short program due to an injury. Currently, Gimazetdinova works as a coach and also performs in ice shows.
