Biography of Anastasia Michaely
Anastasia Michaely is a well-known Israeli politician and the host of the TV show "The Delights of Life." Despite her fame as the vivacious and sometimes brash character on the show, Anastasia Michaely has very little in common with the actress Anastasia Michaely.
Anastasia arrived on time for our meeting and took a seat opposite me. As a local TV star who educates the masses on bourgeois etiquette, I couldn't help but be curious about her. With her light hair, dark glasses, colorful pants, and matching shirt, she exuded elegance. And it's no wonder - Anastasia has impeccable taste, having worked as a model in Paris. She has accomplished a long list of achievements, including obtaining an engineering degree, completing her military service, getting married, and raising five children.
During our interview, I asked Anastasia if she enjoys hosting "The Delights of Life." She replied enthusiastically, explaining that the show helps people discover a different, unfamiliar side of Israel. It serves as a bridge between the hidden gems of the country and the viewers. The program focuses on lifestyle and incorporates beautiful things, luxury cars, expensive restaurants, and encounters with Israeli elites.
When I asked if these "delights" were affordable for most people, Anastasia assured me that they also feature accessible places. She believes that viewers have not yet had the chance to explore these locations due to their busy schedules or lack of knowledge. As for the luxury aspect, Anastasia believes that it is important to have something pleasant that simply pleases the eye.
Anastasia shared that they receive numerous invitations from individuals who want to host their filming crew. Everyone is aware of the potential of the Russian-speaking population and hopes to attract their clientele.
I inquired if Anastasia would demand reshoots if she felt she didn't look good on-screen. She replied that they cannot reshoot scenes simply due to someone's whims.
When asked about her belief in the future of the program, Anastasia expressed confidence, citing the program's recent time slot change to a more convenient time. Now, "The Delights of Life" airs on Sundays at 10:30 pm, allowing more viewers to tune in.
I mentioned an interview I had with Misha Teplitsky, Anastasia's "husband" on the show. He revealed that Anastasia was pregnant but didn't want to publicize it. Instead, he had a pregnancy storyline, and coincidentally, he became the one expecting. Anastasia confirmed this and explained that they had tried to hide her pregnancy due to people potentially assuming the child was theirs. They wanted to maintain the illusion of their on-screen relationship without revealing their personal lives.
I asked about her husband's thoughts on her close relationship with Teplitsky. Anastasia assured me that her husband trusts Mr. Tepiltsky.
I mentioned that she had left Paris and moved to Israel for her loved one, similar to the Decembrist wives. I asked if her current family life was worth it. Anastasia clarified that she hadn't made any heroic choices; instead, she met an amazing person with whom she was willing to spend her life. She emphasized her commitment to her husband and children.
We discussed her time in Paris and her participation in the "Northern Palmyra" beauty contest. Claudia Schiffer was a judge at the event, and Anastasia had the opportunity to speak with her. Anastasia admired Schiffer's success and emphasized that stars are not born, but rather become stars through hard work, determination, and the support of others.
Anastasia shared how she met her husband while working at a communication exhibition where his company participated.
When I asked about her husband's courtship, Anastasia revealed that she dislikes flowers and is not a fan of gifts in general. However, her husband understands her better than anyone and always gives her what she truly needs.
Anastasia was cautious about discussing her personal life, as she didn't want to boast when many couples struggle with infertility. She acknowledged that many modern couples choose not to have children due to the sacrifices required.
Anastasia clarified that she followed religious practices in her home, including maintaining kosher, lighting candles on Fridays, and saying prayers before meals. It is important for her to feel a part of the Jewish people.
I asked how she manages to balance her busy schedule and her role as a mother of five. Anastasia explained that she has learned to prioritize her time and set goals based on what is most important in the moment. She also attributed her success to the help of her nanny, Olga, who is like a second mother to her children. Olga knows their home as well as Anastasia does and invests her soul into her work. Another nanny, Emma, assists in the mornings. Anastasia emphasized the importance of ensuring her children receive attention despite her busy schedule.
I mentioned her fame and how it may have affected her. Anastasia replied that her experience in the modeling industry has taught her to be realistic. She knows that her television career could end at any moment. However, she finds comfort in knowing that she has her family, children, and a loving husband who can make her happy.
We discussed the idea of "female happiness" and whether having a loving partner is enough. Anastasia shared that her husband is the most important person to her. She recalled her time as a model in Paris, where she felt alone despite being surrounded by people. She emphasized that what truly matters is having someone who cares for you. Material possessions are secondary.
When asked about her husband's profession, Anastasia described him as a talented businessman who enjoys working on various projects. He values spending time at home, fixing old electronics or repairing their children's toys.
Anastasia revealed that she maintains her figure by swimming and her past experience as a professional skier. She advised eating more fruits and vegetables, drinking water, eating less bread, avoiding late-night meals, and not overeating.
I asked if she uses the products she advertises. Anastasia explained that she chooses products based on her needs, regardless of the brand. She believes that it's unnecessary to have expensive items and that it's more important to wear things she loves.
Anastasia shared an anecdote about trying on a $10,000 dress from Tovale, but admitted that it was impractical for her with five children. She emphasized that she couldn't wear such an expensive dress as her children might dirty it. However, she appreciates the beauty of the dress and the joy it brings.
When discussing her husband's reaction to her sometimes extravagant spending, Anastasia revealed that she is actually a frugal wife. Her husband occasionally suffers from her thriftiness. She understands the importance of saving money for her children's education and would rather invest in tutors than spend on unnecessary items.
I mentioned the difficulty of finding time for oneself in a large family. Anastasia shared that they occasionally hire a nanny to spend time alone as a couple. They enjoy going to the movies together.
Anastasia admitted that she is still working on finding balance in her life and taking care of herself. Sometimes, she feels overwhelmed and seeks solace in swimming, enjoying the silence and being alone with her thoughts.
I questioned how she manages transportation for her large family. Anastasia explained that they have a seven-seater minibus but sometimes need an additional car to accommodate the nanny.
I concluded by asking about rest and relaxation for just the two of them. Anastasia shared that they occasionally hire a nanny to have some time alone. They go out and enjoy each other's company, often going to the cinema.
Anastasia emphasized that she is constantly working on finding harmony within herself and her roles in life.
