Biography of Andrey Rastorguev

Andrey Rastorguev is a Latvian biathlete who has represented his country in the Olympic Games of 2010, 2014, and 2018. He is a two-time champion of the European Biathlon Championships and has also won two bronze medals at the 2010 World Championships in summer biathlon, in the sprint and pursuit events.

Early Life and Career

Andrey Rastorguev began his journey in biathlon under the guidance of coach Intars Berķulis. In 2005, he participated in his first international competition, the Junior World Championships. From 2008 onwards, Rastorguev has been a member of the Latvian national team.

Notable Achievements

On December 15, 2012, Rastorguev achieved a significant milestone in his career when he finished 10th in the World Cup stage held in Pokljuka, Slovenia. He was the top performer on the track during that race. His best results include a 4th place finish in Sochi during the 2012/2013 season and in the pursuit race at the World Cup stage in Oberhof, Germany during the 2013/2014 season.

In the 2016/2017 season, Rastorguev achieved his first podium finish in the mass start event at the World Cup stage in Holmenkollen, securing the 2nd place.
