Early Life and Education

Andrey Kondrashov, a prominent Russian journalist and television presenter, was born on June 30, 1973, in Alma-Ata, the capital of the Kazakh SSR. He graduated from the journalism faculty of the Moscow International Independent Ecological and Political Science University (MNEPU).

Journalistic Career at VGTRK

Kondrashov has been an integral part of the VGTRK (All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company) since November 1992. From 1991 to 1992, he was a correspondent for the "Vesti" news program under the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

Since 1999, Kondrashov has served as a special correspondent for "Vesti" from the Moscow editorial office. He was accredited to the Russian State Duma and worked in the Kremlin press pool for a period of time.

War Reporting

Kondrashov's journalistic career has included extensive coverage of armed conflicts in "hot spots" such as Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Tajikistan, Chechnya, the Balkans, Afghanistan, and the pogroms in Moscow's Manezhnaya Square in June 2002.

Political Commentator and Presenter

In 2003, Kondrashov became a political commentator for "Vesti." He also hosted the "Vesti" news program from 2005 onwards, as well as "Vesti+" and "Vesti Nedeli" (from February 2007 to July 2008).

Kondrashov has described his interview with Alexander Solzhenitsyn as the most challenging of his career. It was the writer's last conversation with the media before his passing.

Director of Vesti and Political Involvement

In July 2016, Kondrashov was appointed Director of the "Vesti" News Division. He served as Press Secretary for Vladimir Putin's presidential campaign from January to March 2018.

First Deputy Director General of VGTRK

On April 2, 2018, Kondrashov was appointed First Deputy Director General of VGTRK, overseeing the company's news operations.

Personal Life

Kondrashov is married and has a daughter, Anna (born in 2002), who is musically inclined and has competed in national piano competitions. His hobbies include political literature, photography, and aviation.
