After graduating high school, Wersching attended Millikin University, where she majored in musical theater. In 2002, she made her television debut in "Star Trek: Enterprise" and "Birds of Prey."

Wersching's career gained momentum in 2007 when she joined the cast of the soap opera "General Hospital" as Amelia Joffe. She portrayed a determined producer seeking to disrupt her stepmother's life. In 2009, she landed a significant role as FBI agent Renee Walker in "24," a series that showcased her portrayal of a tough and resourceful agent who often bent the rules for justice.
