Early Life and Education
Artem Andriiiovych Pushkarenko was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. He graduated from Kyiv Secondary School No. 15 in 2009. In 2013, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Subsequently, he earned a Master's degree in Public Service from the same university in 2015.
Career
Early Professional ExperienceFrom 2016 to 2017, Pushkarenko served as a consultant to the Chairman of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions of Ukraine and as Executive Director of the International Center for Baltic-Black Sea Studies and Consensus Practices.
Political Career
In August 2019, Pushkarenko was elected as a member of the Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) as a representative of the "Servant of the People" party. He serves as a member of the Committee on Budgetary Issues.
Community Involvement
Youth ActivismFrom 2006 to 2008, Pushkarenko led the Youth Center at the Kyiv City Organization of the All-Ukrainian Society "Memorial" named after Vasyl Stus. He was involved in the preparation of the book "Kyivans - Witnesses of the Holodomor," which documented the Holodomor famine.
Youth Organization "Patriot"
Pushkarenko co-founded and led the Youth Public Organization "Patriot" from 2008 to 2010. Under this organization, he initiated the project "Path of Ukrainian Patriots," which aimed to commemorate prominent Ukrainian figures of the 20th century.
Ukrainian National Council
In 2009, Pushkarenko became deputy chairman of the Ukrainian National Council, which was established after the "People's Movement of Ukraine" 20th anniversary celebration. This organization later played a role in the Committee for the Defense of Ukraine, an early opposition group against the Yanukovych regime.
Kyiv City Council
From 2010 to 2013, Pushkarenko served as Chairman of the Kyiv Youth Movement. He advocated for issues related to Kyiv city life, including the protection of historical landmarks and the improvement of water quality.
Civic Initiatives
Pushkarenko co-founded the public initiative "Preserve Goloseevo" in 2014 and campaigned to rename one of Kyiv's streets after General Sergei Kulchytsky. He also organized the project "Gift a Ukrainian Book" to donate books to libraries in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
Honors and Recognition
Pushkarenko is a member of the Supervisory Board of the National Sikorsky Center Foundation. He also serves as Chairman of the Center for the Protection of the Holosiiv Community's Rights.
International Visits
In 2018, Pushkarenko attended the 66th National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., at the invitation of the United States Congress.
