Early Life and Education
Artem Dmytruk was born on June 28, 1993, in Kazatin, Vinnytsia Oblast, Ukraine. He spent his teenage years in Odessa, where he struggled to make ends meet. Dmytruk worked as a loader, deliveryman, security guard, and salesman to support himself while pursuing his education at the Odessa Law College, specializing in law.
Sports Career
As a teenager, Dmytruk excelled in strength training. He became a Ukrainian champion and world medalist in powerlifting and won numerous tournaments in sambo, hand-to-hand combat, pankration, and boxing. In 2018, he earned a silver medal at the World Cup in crosslifting. He is also a Master of Sports of International Class in powerlifting.
Entrepreneurial Career
In 2017, Dmytruk ventured into entrepreneurship. He established two sports clubs in Odessa, where he also served as a trainer. He joined the non-profit organization "Ilya Muromets," which focuses on youth work, and co-founded the organization "I Am an Odessan — I Care." In 2021, he established his own charitable fund.
Political Career
Dmytruk entered politics as a member of the Servant of the People party. In the 2019 parliamentary elections, he was elected as a Member of Parliament for constituency No. 133 (Odessa Oblast). He initially joined the Parliament's Committee on Law Enforcement Activities.
Dmytruk became a vocal supporter of the opposition movement within the Servant of the People party. In September 2021, he joined the inter-faction association "Reasonable Politics" led by former Speaker of Parliament Dmytro Razumkov. Subsequently, he was expelled from the Servant of the People faction.
Incident at the Odessa City Council
In January 2022, Dmytruk attempted to disrupt a meeting of the Odessa City Council's land commission. A conflict ensued, resulting in injuries to city council employees and municipal security personnel. The police launched an investigation into the incident.
Personal Life
Dmytruk is married to Anastasia Oleksandrivna Dmytruk (Okolotenko), a businesswoman who serves as his assistant in parliament. They have a son named Ivan, who was born in November 2020. Dmytruk is a parishioner of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
