Artyom Gomelko is a Belarusian football player and a goalkeeper for the club "Smolevichi-STI". He was born on June 12, 1989, in Belarus. Gomelko started his football career as a youth player at the SDYUSHOR "BelAZ" academy. His first coach was Mikhail Demyanovich Rusak.
Professional Career
Gomelko made his professional debut in 2005 when he played for the Zhodino-based team, "Torpedo". He played for the club from 2005 to 2007 before signing a 5-year contract with Moscow's "Lokomotiv" in December 2007. The contract came into effect after Gomelko turned 18.
During his time at "Lokomotiv", Gomelko impressed the club's management and received positive feedback from the then-president, Yuri Semin, and the goalkeeper coach, Sergey Ovchinnikov. He made his debut for the club on June 22, 2011, in a match against CSKA, which ended in a 1-3 loss.
Gomelko also had a loan spell with his former club, "Torpedo", during which he made a regrettable mistake that resulted in an own goal against Mogilev's "Dnepr".
International Career
From 2006 onwards, Gomelko represented the Belarusian youth national team. He was part of the team that won the Granatkin Memorial in 2007. Gomelko was also selected for the Belarusian U21 national team for the European Championships in Sweden in 2009 and Denmark in 2011. Despite being a member of the team, he did not make any appearances on the field.
