Christian Eichner
Early CareerChristian Eichner, a German professional footballer, was born in Sulzfeld, Germany. He began his career at his hometown club before moving to Karlsruher SC at the age of 14. At 19, he signed for the reserve team of Karlsruher SC and spent four seasons there.
Bundesliga Debut and Success
In 2005, Eichner was promoted to the first team, which was then competing in the 2. Bundesliga. He made his debut for Karlsruher SC on August 7, 2005, in a 2-0 home win against Sportfreunde Siegen. In the 2007/08 and 2008/09 seasons, Karlsruher SC played in the Bundesliga. Eichner made his Bundesliga debut on August 12, 2008, in an away match against FC Nürnberg, which Karlsruher SC surprisingly won 2-0 thanks to a brace from Tamás Hajnal. In total, Eichner made 128 appearances and scored three goals for the club.
Move to Hoffenheim
After Karlsruher SC was relegated from the Bundesliga in the 2008/09 season, Eichner decided to leave the club and signed for Bundesliga sensation Hoffenheim. He made his debut for the club on August 21, 2009, in a 0-0 home draw against FC Schalke 04.
