Biography of Ashot Arsenyan

Ashot Yegisheevich Arsenyan (Armenian: Աշոտ Եղիշերի Արսենյան) was born on November 12, 1960, in the village of Gndevaz, Azizbekovskiy District, Armenian SSR. He is a former mayor of Jermuk and owner of the company "Jermuk Group".

Early Life and Career

From 1980 to 1982, Arsenyan served in the Soviet Army. After his military service, he worked as a purchaser at the Jermuk Autobase from 1982 to 1984. In 1985 and 1986, he served as the head of the Jermuk station at the Surenavan Oil Base. Arsenyan graduated from the Yerevan University of Technical Progress in Construction in 1986, specializing in technical construction.

Political and Business Career

In 1986, Arsenyan became the deputy chief doctor at Sanatorium No. 4 in Jermuk. In 1988, he was appointed as the deputy chief doctor in charge of the economic department of the Jermuk Resort Association.

In 1993, Arsenyan became the director of the Jermuk Mineral Water Plant. He served as the mayor of Jermuk in 1996 and was re-elected in 1999 and 2002.

Since 1999, Arsenyan has been the chairman and founder of Jermuk Group CJSC. He is also an honorary member of the Board of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia and the public organization "Erkir Nairi".

On May 25, 2003, Arsenyan became a member of the permanent commission on state-legal issues of the National Assembly, representing the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). He is a member of the RPA party.
