Armenian Stateswoman and Politician
Early Life and EducationHarutyunyan was born in 1964 in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. She received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Yerevan State University in 1982 and went on to complete a Postgraduate Degree from the same institution in 1985.
Academic and Administrative Career
Harutyunyan taught Biology at Yerevan Secondary School No. 182 from 1985 to 1993. In 1986, she joined the Armenian Society for Cultural Relations and Cooperation with Foreign Countries, where she held various positions, including Referent, Senior Referent, Head of Department, Chief Secretary, First Vice-Chairman, and Chairman of the Council until 2006.
Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs
Appointment and ReappointmentsHarutyunyan was appointed as Armenia's Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs in May 2006. She was reappointed to this post on several occasions:
