Biography of Baiba Bendika

Baiba Bendika is a Latvian biathlete who began her career in 2008. She made her debut for the Latvian national team in the World Cup in 2011. In the beginning, Bendika achieved modest results and did not always qualify for the World Cup.

In 2012, the biathlete made her debut at the World Championships in Ruhpolding, Germany, but she finished in the bottom ranks. However, Bendika experienced a significant improvement in her performance during the 2015/2016 season. With progress in speed and shooting accuracy, she was able to showcase her abilities.

During the World Cup stage in Canmore, Canada, Bendika not only earned her first points but also finished in the top five in the sprint event. This achievement led to her participation in the flower ceremony after the race. She further solidified her performance with two top-twenty finishes at the stage in Presque Isle, United States.

Currently, Bendika is the leader of the Latvian women's biathlon team. She has become a prominent figure in Latvian biathlon, demonstrating her dedication and skill in the sport.
