Bibi van der Werf was born on August 16, 1977, in Šibenik, Socialist Republic of Croatia, part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Political Career
Local PoliticsVan der Werf's political career began at the local level in 2010 when she was elected as a member of the municipal council of Zaanstad.
National Politics
In 2012, she was elected as a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands, representing the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD).
Government Service
State Secretary of DefenseOn October 26, 2017, Van der Werf was appointed as the State Secretary of Defense in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
