Biography of Ben Burnley

Benjamin Burnley, also known as Ben Burnley, was born in 1978 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He grew up in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, and later moved to Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. It was in Wilkes-Barre that Burnley lived with Jonathan Price, who would later become one of the founding members of Breaking Benjamin.

Early Musical Influences

Burnley was heavily influenced by the music of Nirvana, which inspired him to learn how to play the guitar. Even before forming Breaking Benjamin, he would perform covers of his favorite Nirvana songs in coffee shops and on the streets, earning a reputation as "Benjamin."

The Formation of Breaking Benjamin

In late 1998, Burnley formed the band Breaking Benjamin, where he played rhythm guitar and served as the lead vocalist. The band gained popularity over the years and in 2006, their album "Phobia" became the best-selling album on Hollywood Records, surpassing even the famous band Queen.

The album "Phobia" is symbolic of Burnley's numerous fears and phobias. He has a fear of flying, which is why the band only performs within the United States and Canada. The lawsuit was ultimately dismissed, resulting in the loss of a friend and musician from the band, but not any money.
