Family BackgroundBenedikt Doll, a German biathlete, was born in a family of athletes. His father, Charlie Doll, is a renowned German runner, while his grandfather, Franz Kolhepp, was one of the founders of the German Ski Association (Deutscher Skiverband).

Education and Interests
Doll pursued his studies in marketing and sales at Hochschule Furtwangen. Apart from his sporting career, he is also passionate about web design and culinary arts. He co-founded a project called "Dolls Küche" (Doll's Kitchen) with his father.
Career
Doll has been involved in biathlon since 1998 and has represented the German national team since 2010. He made his World Cup debut in the 2011/2012 season. In the pre-Olympic week in Sochi, he finished second in the men's relay and sixth in the individual race. In the 2013/2014 World Cup stage in Kontiolahti, Finland, he placed ninth in the sprint and seventh in the pursuit. In 2015, he achieved his first individual medal in the World Cup, finishing third in the sprint in Khanty-Mansiysk. The next day, he secured second place in the pursuit. In the 2015/2016 season, he won a silver medal in the mass start at the World Cup stage in Canmore. At the 2017 World Championships in Hochfilzen, Austria, Doll clinched his first career gold medal in the sprint, beating his closest competitor Johannes Bø by 0.7 seconds. He is also a two-time European champion (2011 and 2013) and a four-time junior world champion.
