Princess Blanca of Naples
Blanca, the second wife of James II of Aragon, was born to Charles II of Naples and Maria of Hungary. Her paternal grandfather was Charles I of Anjou, her paternal grandmother was Beatrice of Provence, her maternal grandfather was Stephen V of Hungary, and her maternal grandmother was Elizabeth, daughter of the Cuman chief Köten. Blanca was interred at the monastery of Santes Creus.
Marriage to James II
Blanca married James II on November 1, 1295. They had ten children:James (September 29, 1296 - July 1334, Tarragona): Renounced his claim to the throne in 1319 and became a monk, having refused to marry Eleanor of Castile.
Alfonso (1299 - January 24, 1336): Became King of Aragon in 1327 and reigned until his death.
Maria (1299-1316, Siena): Married Peter of Castile.
Constance (April 1, 1300, Valencia - September 19, 1327): Married Juan Manuel.
John (1304 - August 19, 1334, Zaragoza): Became the first Archbishop of Toledo and Tarragona in 1318 and the Patriarch of Alexandria in 1328.
Isabella (1305 - July 12, 1330, Styria): Married Frederick I of Austria.
Peter (1305 - November 4, 1381, Pisa): Was Count of Ribagorza and Prades.
Blanca (1307-1348, Barcelona): Was Princess of Sicily.
Ramon Berenguer (August 1308-1366, Barcelona): Was Count of Empúries and Baron of Ejerique.
Violante (October 1310, Barcelona - July 19, 1353, Pedrola): Married Philip, Despot of Romania; second marriage to Lope de Luna.
