Bill Lee is an American politician and entrepreneur serving as the 50th and current Governor of Tennessee since 2019.
Early Life and Education
Lee was born and raised in Franklin, Tennessee. He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
Career in Business
Following his education, Lee joined his family's construction and building materials company, The Lee Company. He eventually became its President and CEO.
Political Career
In 2018, Lee decided to run for Governor of Tennessee. He ran as a Republican and won the election convincingly with 59% of the vote.
Religious Beliefs
As the Governor of Tennessee, Lee adheres to conservative evangelical Christian beliefs. He attends a nondenominational church called the Chapel on the Hill in Franklin.
Election Campaign
Lee's religious beliefs played a significant role in his election campaign. While his opponent, Democrat Karl Dean, did not emphasize his religious affiliation, Lee openly discussed his faith and conservative views.
