Biography of Björk
Pop StarBjörk Guðmundsdóttir, known as Björk, is a pop star from Iceland. She is a true Viking with a strong northern spirit, elf-like height, Eskimo slanting eyes, and a complete lack of any complexes. Her fans love her more than life itself, while others hate her to the point of sending her bombs in the mail or shooting themselves in the forehead while listening to her songs. However, what angered her the most was when a young Icelander broke into her mother's house, slept in Björk's bed, and ate everything in the fridge. Recently, it was announced that Björk is pregnant again, 15 years after the birth of her first child. She is expecting a baby girl, who is already referred to as "Björk Jr." in the womb. The father of the baby is Matthew Barney, a renowned American film director and artist specializing in various variations of roses, blood, and high-tech inlaid frames. Last summer, he moved the expectant mother to his small estate near the port in the western part of New York. Despite her pregnancy, Björk continues to perform concerts and participate in various fashion events, although she has significantly reduced her touring activities. While expecting her first child, Björk even managed to film and play her first leading role in an Icelandic film called "Juniper Tree" (during the first two months, she breastfed her son between takes). Her son, Sindri, is now 15 years old. On his birthday, Björk's stepmother and her mother prepared a cake, and they were joined by the new wife of Sindri's father and Björk's grandmother's two husbands. After her parents' divorce, Sindri played in his mother's band for a while until her departure. However, he chose to stay in Iceland with his father, who now enjoys discussing girls with his son while shaving together.
Hippie Childhood
Björk Guðmundsdóttir was born on November 21, 1965, in Reykjavik, Iceland, to a mother who was an Aikido instructor and an electrician father. She grew up in a tiny village with a population of 100,000. Björk resembles her mother, who was known for having the longest hair in Iceland, numerous Moroccan bracelets, and various phoenikoi. Her parents divorced when she was only 3 years old. "My stepfather, a local hippie, did not believe in discipline, hated work, and spent his days telling me stories and playing with me," Björk recalls. "I ended up in a real hippie commune, where we would often hear things like, 'Let's paint the house with purple butterflies' (I'm allergic to that color now). 'Let's eat only bananas for two days in a row!' They taught me how to share, finish what I start, fear no one, and live every day as if it were my last. Since childhood, I went hunting, cooked game over a fire, and disappeared into the wilderness for days. It's no wonder that my first independent purchases were a tent and a sleeping bag." Starting from the age of 5, Björk studied flute, piano, vocals, and learned to play the harp in the school orchestra. At the age of 11, her stepfather and music teacher helped her release her first album (the cover was drawn by Björk's father). The album went platinum. It was during this time that Björk began collecting sounds. In her collection, she had recordings made during an earthquake in Los Angeles, the crackling of a popcorn machine, and the snoring of her own grandfather. All of these sounds later became the foundation for her songs. Two of Björk's other passions are blending different genres (techno, rock, house, jazz, alternative rock, classical) and poetry, which she cannot live without, whether it's eating, sleeping, or making love.
Madness of "Poor Björk"
At the age of 14, Björk dyed her hair orange, started a punk band called "Spit and Snot," and later dropped out of school. During the last two years of school, she worked in coffee shops, hotels, delivering books to people's homes (mostly Icelandic sagas), and cleaning fish in a plant. Interestingly, her first songs were born amidst the industrial noise of fish processing. Björk rented a room and later an apartment with her friend Didda. They would buy second-hand clothes at flea markets once a month and eventually got matching tattoos - a compass that "helps find one's way in life." When they were 18, they both got married almost simultaneously, and a year later, they both got divorced. Björk's husband, Þór Eldon, was a punk, and her last official boyfriend was a jungle star, but she has always been attracted to football players. "Football is a celebration of fertilization. Eleven spermatozoa try to reach one egg," she once said. For her, loving oneself is more important than being loved. She is against calculated love, which kills true love. Her lovers are simply friends with whom she has sex. However, Björk is particularly happy when she is slightly drunk. Rumor has it that it was in this state of "bliss" that Björk slapped a Thai television journalist who dared to ask her about her son when they met at the plane's ramp. Björk does not use drugs in her life. Instead, she prefers coffee and peanuts as her doping. Throughout her career, Björk has been included in the Guinness Book of World Records as a three-time winner of the British Awards, and she received an award for Best Actress for her role in Lars von Trier's film "Dancer in the Dark," which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival (Björk gave the award to her friend). According to witnesses, filming the movie caused several nervous breakdowns for Björk. The film director Lars von Trier persuaded Björk to star in the film after a year of convincing, but then he constantly criticized her. Usually, after Lars' outbursts, Björk would silently disappear from the set (only to be found and brought back), then fall into deep melancholy. Once, she spent an hour tearing her clothes apart and chewing on them while in character... That was the end of Björk's acting career as the "poor Björk." Now, she dreams of buying an island in the Arctic or at least a farmhouse by a stream to dive into after a sauna.
