Bohdan Butko

Early Life and Club Career

Bohdan Butko is a Ukrainian footballer born in Donetsk, Ukraine. He was trained at Shakhtar Donetsk and joined Shakhtar-3 in 2008. Butko made his debut in the Ukrainian Second League against Kommunalnik Lugansk on April 3, 2008, scoring a goal. He won the Ukrainian Youth Championship with Shakhtar's reserve team in the 2008/2009 season.

International Career

Youth Levels

Butko made his debut for the Ukraine U-17 team on November 14, 2006, and represented the squad in 21 matches. He then joined the U-19 team on January 5, 2009, and was selected by Yuriy Kalitvintsev for the 2009 European Championship held in Donetsk and Mariupol.

Senior Team

Butko earned his first cap for the Ukrainian national team at the age of 20 on September 2, 2011. He played the entire match in a friendly against Uruguay, then ranked fifth in the world. Ukraine manager Oleh Blokhin praised Butko's performance, stating that he "liked Butko's debut" and that he would "build the team around players like him."
