Early Life and Education

Borys Prykhodko, a Ukrainian financier and politician, was born in the town of Nosovka. He graduated from the local school and then pursued a higher education at the Financial and Economic Faculty of Kyiv National Economic University, where he studied from 1990 to 1994.

Banking Career

Prykodko began his career in the banking sector in 1993, working for various institutions, including "Ukraine", "Khreshchatyk", and "Oschadbank". In 2008, he rose to the position of Director of Treasury at Oschadbank, a position he held until 2012.

Political Career

In December 2012, Prykodko entered the political arena as the First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine. He also served as a People's Deputy of Ukraine in the 9th convocation, representing the "Trust" parliamentary group.

Arrest and Prosecution

On July 31, 2014, Prykodko was detained by the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine. He was suspected of embezzling 2 billion and 69 million hryvnia from the Agrarian Fund of Ukraine in February 2014. The investigation also alleged that Prykodko had laundered these funds.

Release on Bail and Trial

On August 1, 2014, a court ruled to detain Prykodko until further investigation and set his bail at 200 million hryvnia. The Prosecutor General's Office later alleged that Prykodko had transferred the embezzled funds to Europe.

Dismissal from the National Bank

On October 22, 2014, the National Bank of Ukraine dismissed Prykodko from his position as Deputy Chairman as part of a lustration campaign. The case against Prykodko was sent to court by the Prosecutor General's Office on July 10, 2015.
