Biography of Brian Vander Ark
Brian Vander Ark is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known for his work with the band 'The Verve Pipe'. He was born in 1966 in Holland, Michigan. Vander Ark started playing guitar at the age of 8. At 18, he married his girlfriend Michelle Marthens, and they named their first child Joshua Vander Ark. Shortly after their son's birth, Vander Ark joined the US Army and was stationed in Germany. After being discharged, his marriage ended in divorce.

Early Career and Formation of 'The Verve Pipe'
Seeking to pursue a career in music, Vander Ark became a guitarist for the band 'His Boy Elroy', but he didn't stay with them for long. He then formed his own band, 'Johnny With an Eye', in which he played alongside former drummer Donny Brown and his brother, bass guitarist Brad Vander Ark. In 1992, the band was disbanded, and Vander Ark formed 'The Verve Pipe'. Their debut album, 'Villains', featuring the hit song 'The Freshmen', gained significant success in 1997. The song 'Never Let You Down' from their 2000 album 'Underneath' reached the 'Adult Top 40' charts and received extensive radio play.

Solo Career and Acting
In May 2003, Vander Ark released his first solo album, 'Resurrection', and embarked on a tour to support it, even joining the concert tour of 'Butch Walker' at one point. He released his second album, 'Angel, Put Your Face On', in 2006, followed by his self-titled third album in January 2008. Vander Ark also signed a contract with 'Second Motion Records' to reissue his earlier works, 'Resurrection' and 'Angel, Put Your Face On'.

In addition to his music career, Vander Ark has pursued acting. He appeared in the musical film 'Rock Star' in 2001, where he also wrote and recorded the song 'Colorful'. Prior to this, he appeared in the action film 'Road Kill' in 1999, as well as the romance film 'This Space Between Us'. He continued to act in films such as 'Dead & Breakfast' in 2004 and 'House of the Rising Sun' in 2011. Vander Ark has also worked on soundtracks for films.
Personal Life and 'Lawn Chairs And Living Rooms Tour'
Currently, Brian Vander Ark is married to folk singer Jenna Land, known by her stage name Lux Land. They have three children together, including Vander Ark's son from his previous marriage. Vander Ark believes that music is primarily for people, and he annually conducts a tour called 'Lawn Chairs And Living Rooms Tour', where he performs in the homes or yards of his most loyal and longtime fans. These tours have been immensely successful, sometimes featuring three to four concerts a day during the summer.
