Annibale "Kizzo" Frossi: Football Legend and World Champion

Annibale "Kizzo" Frossi, an Italian footballer, began his career in 1933 with Udinese. Two years later, he joined Triestina, where he made his debut against Fiorentina on September 22, 1935. During his time at Triestina until 1939, the club enjoyed a notable victory with a 5:1 score over Fiorentina.

Milan and beyond

In 1939, Frossi transferred to Milan, playing his first match on September 17 against Torino. The match resulted in a 2:1 victory for Milan. His season with the club concluded on May 26, 1940, with a scoreless draw against Triestina.

From 1940 to 1942, Frossi played for Genoa. The outbreak of World War II led him to join Serie B club Anconitana, where he played for only one season due to the war. He later returned to Udinese for the wartime championship.

Post-war Era

After the war in 1945, Frossi rejoined Genoa for two seasons before moving to Bolzano. With Bolzano, he faced relegation from Serie B to Serie C in his first season. Frossi concluded his football career with Empoli in 1950.

International Success

Frossi's crowning achievement came in 1938 when he was selected by coach Vittorio Pozzo for Italy's World Cup team. While the Italian squad triumphed, becoming world champions, Frossi did not make any appearances on the field.
