Karl Pohlad, the vice president of the "Pohlad" company, was born on August 23, 1915 in Iowa, USA. He grew up in a small town called Janctin Valley in Iowa. In 1934, Karl graduated from high school. During that time, he was the leader of the school football team and represented Compton College in South Carolina for two years. Many educational institutions wanted to recruit him as a successful football player. He was invited to study at Gonzaga University in Washington. However, Karl Pohlad did not finish his studies at this university as he was called to military service due to the outbreak of World War II.

Military Service and Recognition

From 1943 to 1946, Karl Pohlad served in the army and participated in military operations in France, Germany, and Austria. He never hid behind his fellow soldiers but instead plunged into the heat of battle. He saved the lives of many others by carrying wounded comrades on his back. For his bravery and the injuries he sustained in combat, Karl Pohlad received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star medals.

Business Ventures and Success

After the war, Karl Pohlad returned to Idaho, married the beautiful Eloise Orourke, and later moved with his family to Minneapolis. For several decades, he built his banking network and achieved astounding results through his persistence and hard work. He became the owner of the "Minnesota Twins baseball franchise" in 1984, and later passed the ownership to Calvin Griffith. In 1997, Pohlad sold the "Twins" team to a businessman from North Carolina, Don Beaver.
