Later, Michelangeli moved to Italy where he enrolled at the Milan Conservatory under the tutelage of Carlo Lonati.
Concert Career

Teaching Legacy
In 1953, an injury to Michelangeli's finger forced him to retire from concert performance. He subsequently dedicated his career to teaching, becoming an influential figure in the world of piano instruction. Among his notable students was the renowned pianist, Maurizio Pollini.
Notable Compositions
In addition to his exceptional piano skills, Michelangeli also composed music. He created several original works, including piano sonatas and preludes, which showcased his deep understanding of musical structure and form.
