Early Life and Club Founding

Enrico Canfari was born in Turin, Italy, around 1879. From a young age, he was passionate about football and played for various local teams. In 1897, he joined the newly formed Juventus Football Club, becoming one of its founding members.

Playing Career

Canfari played for Juventus for the first seven years of the club's existence. He made his debut in a match against Torinese on November 3, 1900, which Juventus lost 1-0. He played his final game on March 2, 1907, against Torino, which Juventus lost 4-1.

During his time as a player, Canfari helped Juventus win its first major trophy, the Italian Championship, in 1905. He was a versatile player, able to play as both a forward and a defender.

Presidential Tenure

Following the departure of previous club president Alfredo Dick, Canfari became the sixth president of Juventus in 1906. He held this position until 1912. During his tenure, the club continued to grow and strengthen.
