Carlos Peralta: A Business Tycoon and Baseball Owner

Born into wealth, Carlos Peralta embarked on a successful business career that led him to become one of Mexico's most prominent entrepreneurs.

Business Ventures

Peralta's telecommunications investments flourished during the dot-com bubble, particularly his stake in the Mexican cellular network Iusacell. In 2001, Vodafone acquired his share for $973 million. With these newfound funds, Peralta diversified his portfolio by investing in luxury real estate in Mexico City and hydroponic tomato farms.

Despite the success of his investments, Peralta has recently faced financial setbacks. He has reportedly stepped back from several businesses, including Cambridge-Lee Holdings, Alma Airlines, and IUSA Footwear. Rumors attribute much of his estimated $2 billion fortune loss to ill-timed investments in real estate, notably Bosquereal, and an extravagant lifestyle.

The "Princesse Marianna"

One of Peralta's most luxurious possessions is his yacht, the "Princesse Marianna." This vessel exudes opulence, featuring twin 12-cylinder engines that propel it to speeds of up to 18 knots. Its advanced technology allows for retractable terraces to extend from the hull. The yacht boasts six cabins with sleeping accommodations for 12, served by a 26-person crew. Additional amenities include a swimming pool, two bars, and a helipad. However, financial constraints forced Peralta to sell the vessel, which is now listed for $125 million.

Trump Tower Apartment

Peralta's real estate portfolio also includes a lavish apartment in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, New York City. Designed by François Zaretti, the residence is valued at $13.5 million. Peralta has expressed a desire to sell this property as well.

Baseball Ownership

Peralta is the owner of the "Tigres de Quintana Roo" baseball team. Despite his lack of interest in the sport, he has been unable to sell the franchise for several years.
