Eva Alberstein was born in Szczecin, Poland in 1947. At the tender age of four, she and her family immigrated to Israel, where she began her musical journey by teaching herself to play the guitar.

In 1964, Alberstein made her debut at the HaMam Theater in Jaffa. From 1965 to 1966, she served as a soloist in the Nahal Brigade Ensemble, where she honed her singing skills and recorded songs, including Yiddish tunes.

Her first album, "Perach HaLilach" ("Flower of the Lilac"), was released in 1967. Over the following two decades, she collaborated with renowned composers such as Moshe Vilensky, Matti Caspi, and Naomi Shemer.
