The Love Story of Chris and Charlotte
Chris Clark, a 43-year-old British man diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer, married his longtime sweetheart, Charlotte Barnes.

A Dream Wedding Amidst Adversity
After receiving the devastating news in October 2012, Chris proposed to Charlotte, and they planned their dream wedding. Ten days later, they became husband and wife.

Battling the Illness
Chris underwent over 60 grueling chemotherapy treatments, defying doctors' expectations. However, he succumbed to his illness on April 8, 2015, at the age of 43.

Charlotte's Tribute
"Chris was not just my husband, he was my best friend, my soulmate," Charlotte said. "I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the beautiful comments and condolences that continue to pour in."

A Love Remembered
The couple's love and strength inspired many. Their wedding ceremony at their home in Offchurch was attended by 300 guests, including Chris's children from a previous marriage.

Honoring Chris's Legacy
Charlotte participates in Cancer Research UK's Race for Life in memory of Chris. In 2013, they were honored to start the Race for Life in Coventry City Centre.
An Inspiring Love Story
Cosmopolitan magazine recognized Chris and Charlotte's love story as their "Ultimate Love Story" winner. They met Samantha Cameron, the Prime Minister's wife, at 10 Downing Street.
Charlotte's Determination Continues
"Chris was a fighter to the end," Charlotte said. "I am incredibly proud to be running the Race for Life in his memory."
A Colorful Farewell
Charlotte requested bright colors instead of black funeral attire for Chris's funeral. Over 300 mourners attended the service in vibrant dress, paying tribute to the former sailor.
Chris's Daughter Honored
"You inspired so many, including me, to never give up and to always stay positive," Chris's daughter, Senenn, wrote in a Facebook post. "I will do my best to make you proud every single day because you are my hero, my best friend, and my mentor."
