Early Career
Cristian Brocchi is an Italian football coach and former professional midfielder who currently manages Serie B club Brescia. He began his career in the youth academy of AC Milan, where he made his senior debut in 1995. He was loaned to Pro Sesto in Serie C1 for two seasons, where he made 57 appearances and scored 3 goals.
Breakthrough with Hellas Verona
After an impressive loan spell at Lumezzane, Brocchi was sold to Hellas Verona in 1999. His performances with the club helped them secure promotion to Serie A, and in his second season with Verona, he attracted attention with his 6 goals in 32 matches.
Return to Milan and Injury Woes
In 2001, Brocchi returned to AC Milan, but his progress was hampered by a serious injury that kept him out for half of the season. After his recovery, he made sporadic appearances for Milan, primarily coming off the bench.
Success and Trophies with Milan
Despite his limited playing time, Brocchi played a role in Milan's triumph in the 2002-03 UEFA Champions League, Serie A, and Coppa Italia. He also contributed to the club's second Champions League victory in 2007.
Loan to Fiorentina and Return to Milan
In 2005, Brocchi was loaned to Fiorentina, but he returned to Milan six months later after a corruption scandal left the club short on players. He featured in 53 matches for Milan over the next two seasons, winning another Champions League title.
Later Career
In 2008, Brocchi moved to Lazio, where he played until 2010 before briefly returning to Milan. He finished his playing career with Cesena in 2013.
International Appearance
Brocchi made one international appearance for Italy in 2006, coming on as a substitute in a friendly match against Turkey.
