Biography of Christian de la Fuente
Born on March 10, 1974, in Santiago, Chile, Christian de la Fuente is an American actor. He grew up as the only child of Hugo, a pharmacist, and Adriana de la Fuente, a homemaker. Before attending the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile to pursue a degree in civil engineering, de la Fuente served in the Chilean Air Force reserve.

During his second year of university, de la Fuente was discovered by a talent scout at his college in Santiago. This led him to participate in a Chilean teenage talent competition, which he easily won. Shortly after, he landed roles in several South American melodramas, including "Eclipse de luna" (1997), and became a popular television actor in South America with his leading role in the hit Chilean series "Venga conmigo" (1995-2002).

In 1998, de la Fuente was cast by Telemundo in the Mexican remake of the American police series "Starsky and Hutch" called "Reyes y Rey" (1998) targeted at the Mexican audience. Although the series did not achieve great success, it marked de la Fuente's entry into the American television industry. He made his debut in the United States in 1999, appearing in an episode of the series "Pensacola: Wings of Gold" (1997-2000).

De la Fuente's breakthrough came in 1999 when he was cast as attorney Andres Diaz in the drama series "Family Law" (1999-2002), for which he received an ALMA Award nomination in 2000. He continued to gain recognition in the United States, making his big-screen debut alongside Sylvester Stallone in the drama film "Driven" (2001). He also portrayed a vampire-hunting priest alongside Jon Bon Jovi in the film "Vampires: Los Muertos" (2002).

In the same year, de la Fuente married Chilean actress Angelique Castro, with whom he later had a child. He also had the opportunity to work with director John McTiernan in the military thriller film "Basic" (2003) starring John Travolta and landed a role as lab technician Sam Belmontes in the series "CSI: Miami" (2003-2004).
Throughout his career, de la Fuente appeared in supporting roles in films such as "Sueno" (2005) with John Leguizamo and the Latin American comedy "Once Upon a Wedding" (2005). He also hosted various Spanish-language events and television shows, including the Latin Grammy Awards in 2005, "Premios Juventud 2006" (2006), and the Chilean reality show "Golpe bajo" (2007), which he also co-wrote and executive produced.
In 2008, de la Fuente's popularity in the American media industry skyrocketed when he was announced as one of the celebrity contestants on the sixth season of "Dancing with the Stars." This participation elevated his status as an actor more than any film could have done. Additionally, he worked on the historical drama film "Love and Virtue" (2008), which featured a star-studded cast including Peter O'Toole, John Malkovich, and Stephen Dillane.
Despite his acting successes, de la Fuente still occasionally performs as part of the "Halcones" aerial acrobatics troupe in the Chilean Air Force reserve.
