Biography of Daniel Ayalon
Daniel "Danny" Ayalon was born in 1955 in Tel Aviv, Israel. His father, Rafael Ayalon, was Algerian, and his mother, Lily Sigalov, was a Polish Jew. Ayalon grew up in Tel Aviv and earned a bachelor's degree from Tel Aviv University before pursuing his master's degree in business management at Bowling Green University in Ohio, USA. He later worked for the leading Israeli trading company, Koor Industries.

Diplomatic Career
Ayalon served in the Israeli army's tank corps, reaching the rank of captain. His diplomatic career began in 1991 when he became the Deputy Consul of Israel in Panama, a position he held until 1992. From 1993 to 2007, Ayalon served as the Chief of Mission of the Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations and then as the Ambassador of Israel to the United States. During his tenure as Ambassador to the US, the political and economic relations between the two countries were strengthened.

Political Career
Ayalon's political career started in the late 1990s. He was a member of the Israeli delegation during negotiations with the Palestinians in Sharm El-Sheikh in 1997 and Wye Plantation in 1998. Additionally, he attended the Camp David Summit in 2000. Ayalon served as an advisor on foreign policy in the cabinets of Binyamin Netanyahu, Ehud Barak, and Ariel Sharon. In the 2009 elections, Ayalon became a member of the 18th Knesset representing the Yisrael Beiteinu party.

Current Role
Ayalon currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs under Avigdor Lieberman. He and Lieberman are close friends, and there is speculation that Ayalon may become a candidate for the position of Prime Minister in the near future. In his personal life, Ayalon is married and has two daughters. His family resides in Hod HaSharon, Israel.
