Early Career and Club SuccessDaniel Braaten, a Norwegian-Nigerian winger, was born in Oslo, Norway. He began his professional football journey with Skeid before joining Rosenborg, one of Norway's most renowned clubs. Despite interest from other teams, including a legal dispute with French club Lens over Daniel Fredheim Holm, Braaten ultimately signed with Rosenborg in 2004 for approximately 250,000 Euros.
The Rosenborg Era
During his time at Rosenborg, Braaten emerged as one of the most mesmerizing players in the Norwegian Tippeliga. His unconventional, artistic style of play showcased his exceptional technical skills, physical strength, and ability to surprise opponents and spectators alike. His signature move, the "seal dribble," became a trademark of his unpredictable nature.
International Debut and Premier League Move
Braaten made his international debut for Norway in 2004 while still playing for Skeid in the Adeccoligaen. He went on to represent his country 25 times, scoring two goals. In August 2007, Braaten made a significant move to the English Premier League, joining Bolton Wanderers for a reported fee of 450,000 pounds. He scored his first goal for Bolton in a 3-0 victory over Reading just three weeks later.
French Adventure and Later Career
After a challenging season in England, Braaten signed a three-year contract with French club Toulouse in 2008. He became part of a swap deal involving Johan Elmander's move to Bolton. Braaten made his mark at Toulouse, scoring his first goal in a 4-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain. His career continued with various clubs, including Copenhagen and Brann.
