Early Life and Career

Emanuela Orlandi Santanchè was born on April 7, 1961, in Milan, Italy, to parents Ottavio and Delfina Garnero, business owners in the transportation industry. She graduated from the University of Turin and embarked on a career in marketing in 1983. Subsequently, she established businesses in the media and public relations fields.

Political Beginnings

In 1999, Santanchè was elected to the Provincial Council of Milan. In 2001, she ran for national parliament but was initially unsuccessful. However, she ultimately gained a seat due to the resignation of a fellow party member.

Parliamentary Service

From 2001 to 2008, Santanchè served in the Italian Parliament as a member of the National Alliance party. She later joined the mixed parliamentary group, the "Partito dei Destra," from 2007 to 2008.

Coalitions and New Parties

In 2008, Santanchè founded the Movement for Italy. However, she joined the People of Freedom party in 2010. From 2010 to 2011, she held the position of Undersecretary of State for the Implementation of the Government Programme in the Berlusconi IV government.

Return to Parliament and Senate

In 2013, Santanchè was elected to the Chamber of Deputies as a member of Berlusconi's People of Freedom party. Following its dissolution, she joined the Forward Italy party but later moved to the Brothers of Italy – National Alliance faction. In 2018, she successfully ran for the Senate as part of a right-wing coalition, securing a seat with 48.12% of the vote.

Business Ventures

In 2007, Santanchè co-founded Visibilia with the Angelucci family, a company involved in advertising sales in the media. Despite initially facing financial difficulties, the company eventually collaborated with prominent publications such as "il Giornale" and "Metro."

Personal Life

Santanchè was married to plastic surgeon Paolo Santanchè from 1983 to 1995. They have one son, Lorenzo, from her relationship with Canio Mazzaro.
