Biography of Daniil Sukhanov
Introduction
Daniil Sukhanov is the Deputy Director of the Department of Property Relations at the Ministry of Defense of Russia. He is known for his involvement in various charitable projects of the Ministry, ranging from transferring land to churches to restoring the Arctic environment. Sukhanov is one of the few public figures who represent this traditionally secretive institution and its philanthropic and socially beneficial initiatives.
Early Life and Education
Daniil Sukhanov was born in Moscow in 1975 to a family of a secretary of the party committee of the city's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), who later worked at the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation. From a young age, Sukhanov showed an interest in education and exact sciences, particularly mathematics. After completing high school, he attended the Moscow Banking College and later graduated from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics. In 1992, Sukhanov pursued an internship at the Stoddart International Business Institute, and from 1994 to 1999, he obtained a second higher education degree in management from Moscow State University.
In 2000, Sukhanov enrolled in the Academy of Economic Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, where he studied jurisprudence. In 2009, he completed a professional development program on "State and Municipal Administration. Legislative Regulation and Management of Nature Use in the Rosreestr System" at the State Academy of Innovations. In 2011, he furthered his education at the Moscow Academy of Public Administration, specializing in "Environmental Protection, Rational Nature Use, and Ecological Safety."
Career
Starting in 2011, Sukhanov served as the Deputy Head of the Moscow Department of Natural Resources Management and Environmental Protection. He then transitioned to the Bureau of Economic Analysis of Environmental Projects and eventually joined the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in 2013, specifically the Department of Property Relations. For a long time, Sukhanov also acted as an advisor to the President of the Russian Federation on Olympic Committee matters.
Political and Personal Life
Daniil Sukhanov is a member of the political party "United Russia" and the public movement "Orthodox Russia." In his free time, he enjoys skiing and golfing.
