College and NBA Beginnings

David Vanterpool, an accomplished American basketball player, honed his skills at St. Bonaventure University. During the 2000-01 season, he made an appearance in 22 games for the Washington Wizards. His NBA career paved the way for an extraordinary international journey.

European Success with CSKA Moscow

From 2005 to 2007, Vanterpool graced the court for CSKA Moscow, a prominent Russian team. During his tenure, he achieved the pinnacle of European basketball by claiming the EuroLeague championship in 2006. His contributions played a pivotal role in CSKA's domestic success, securing two Russian Championships and two Russian Cups.

A Path to Coaching

Before joining the Trail Blazers, Vanterpool served as a scout for the Oklahoma City Thunder for two seasons. He then transitioned to coaching, becoming an assistant coach for the Brooklyn Nets.
