Biography of Dmitry Egorov

Dmitry Egorov was born into the family of the famous actress Natalia Kustinskaya and cosmonaut doctor Boris Egorov. He grew up as a talented boy, excelling in his studies and consistently achieving top marks. He also possessed a handsome appearance and could have followed in his mother's footsteps as an actor. However, his father was strongly against this path and prepared Dmitry for a serious profession, speaking to him in English at home.

Acting Career

Despite his father's wishes, Dmitry had the opportunity to act in a movie in 1983 while his father was away on business in America. A friend of Natalia Kustinskaya, Leonid Berdishchevsky, who worked as an assistant director on the film "Scarecrow" by Rolan Bykov, informed them that they were looking for a boy for one of the roles. Dmitry and his classmates attended the audition, where Rolan Bykov noticed him. Natalia Kustinskaya recalls, "I immediately protested, knowing that Boris would create a huge scandal. But Rolan didn't pay attention: 'Leave the room, this doesn't concern you anymore. The boy has beautiful eyes and a slightly capricious upper lip - just what I'm looking for. And if your husband gets upset, tell him that you're just getting the kid used to work. He won't get sick with us, filming is a tough business.' The next day, a car arrived for Mitya, and he and Christina went to Tver."

In the film "Scarecrow," directed by Rolan Bykov, Egorov played the role of Dima Somov. His character was perceived as good-looking and decent, but in reality, he was weak, unreliable, and cowardly, causing his classmates to boycott Lena Bessoltseva (played by Kristina Orbakaite).

Tragic Life

Despite his brief acting career, Dmitry did not pursue a full-time acting profession as his father had desired. Instead, he utilized his excellent knowledge of the English language and graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) with an economics degree, ensuring a secure future. However, his life took a tragic turn.

After completing his studies, Dmitry married Natasha, who worked as the head of the legal department for singer Iosif Kobzon. Soon after, they had a son, but tragically, the child passed away after only six months. Devastated by the loss, Dmitry fell into depression and started drinking heavily. Natalia insisted on a divorce and, in 2003, Dmitry himself passed away under mysterious circumstances. He went out for a walk one day and never returned. Dmitry was found dead on the streets, with doctors attributing his death to heart failure. It was only when he was lying in the coffin that Natalia Kustinskaya discovered a wound on his temple.

Dmitry Egorov was buried at the Kuntsevo Cemetery.
