Early Life and Education
Dmytro Razumkov was born on October 8, 1983, in Berdychiv, Ukraine. He attended Kyiv Lyceum No. 38 and later graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in International Economic Relations. He also holds a degree in Law from the National University of State Tax Service.
Political Career
Razumkov's political career began in 2006 when he entered the field of political consulting. He partnered with Vasyl Mohkan and Nelly Yakovleva to form the "Ukrainian Politconsulting Group."
In 2006, Razumkov joined the Party of Regions but left the party in 2010 following Viktor Yanukovych's victory in the presidential election. He subsequently worked with Serhiy Tigipko, an acquaintance of his father from their time in the Dnipropetrovsk Komsomol.
Presidential Campaign
During the 2019 presidential election, Razumkov served as a representative of Volodymyr Zelenskyy's electoral headquarters. He claimed to have worked on a volunteer basis and had no agreements for any government position or other benefits after Zelenskyy's victory.
Party Leadership and Parliamentary Election
Following the appointment of Servant of the People party chairman Ivan Bakanov to a senior position in the Security Service of Ukraine, Razumkov became the new leader of the party on May 22, 2019. He led the party's electoral list in the 2019 parliamentary election.
Parliamentary Election and Potential Speakership
On July 21, 2019, Razumkov was elected as a member of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament. He is considered a potential candidate for the position of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
Language Preference
Razumkov publicly speaks in Russian, citing the ongoing Russian aggression and the need to protect the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine.
Family
Razumkov is the eldest son of former Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma's aide, Oleksandr Razumkov. His mother is Natalia Kudrya, a People's Artist of Ukraine. He has a half-brother, Hlib, from his father's relationship with Yulia Mostova, editor-in-chief of "Zerkalo Nedeli." Razumkov is married and has two children.
