Early Life and Club CareerEmre Can, a German footballer of Turkish descent, was born on January 12, 1994. His journey in football began with the modest Frankfurt team Blau Gelb. In 2006, he joined the youth ranks of the more renowned Eintracht Frankfurt, where he honed his skills until 2009.
In the summer of 2009, Can made the leap to Bayern Munich, joining the club's youth setup. He progressed to the reserve team in 2011 and made his senior debut on August 12, 2012, in the German Super Cup match against Borussia Dortmund. Can's Bundesliga debut followed on April 13, 2013, against Nuremberg.
Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool
In August 2013, Can moved to Bayer Leverkusen on a contract that included a buy-back clause for Bayern Munich. However, the option was not exercised. On June 5, 2014, Can signed for Liverpool for a transfer fee of £10 million.
International Career
Can represented Germany at various youth levels, winning silver and bronze medals at the U-17 European and World Championships, respectively. In 2013, he joined the U-21 side.
Despite being eligible for Turkey, Can opted to represent Germany, making his senior debut on September 4, 2015, against Poland (3-1). He played a key role in Germany's Confederations Cup triumph in 2017, where they defeated Chile in the final.
