Birth and Education
Enrico Avots, a Soviet and Latvian actor, was born on November 2, 1952, in Riga, Latvia, to parents who were both theater workers. He completed his secondary education at Janis Rainis Riga Evening High School in 1972 before pursuing a degree in theater at the Janis Vitols Latvian State Conservatory.
Theater Career
In 1976, Avots began his acting career at the State Youth Theater of the Latvian SSR, where he remained until 1992. Following the theater's reorganization, he joined the Youth Theater and the "Kabata" Theater, while also performing as a guest actor at the New Riga Theater. Additionally, he worked extensively on Latvian television.
Film Debut and Personal Life
Avots made his film debut in 1973 in the youth film "Chickens Are Counted in Autumn" directed by Olgerts Dunkers. Notably, he was married to actress Maija Eglite.
