After ten years, Zahavi moved to 'Ironi Rishon LeZion,' but returned to his football alma mater, 'Hapoel Tel Aviv,' after two seasons. He played in the youth teams of the club until 2006 when he was promoted to the first team of the Israeli Premier League. Over the next five years with 'Hapoel Tel Aviv,' Zahavi played 94 games and scored 24 goals.

In the 2007-2008 season, he played for 'Ironi Ramat HaSharon' on loan, featuring in 45 games and scoring nine goals. In 2011, Zahavi made headlines in Israeli newspapers when he signed a five-year contract with the Italian club 'Palermo,' becoming the second Israeli footballer in history to play in matches of the Italian league. He made his debut in a Europa League match against 'Thun.'

Unfortunately, Zahavi's European adventure was short-lived. In 2013, after two years, he returned to Israel and was immediately bought by one of the most renowned Israeli clubs, 'Maccabi Tel Aviv.' In the team, Zahavi quickly became a leader and one of the most promising players, with his speed and ball control ensuring the team's dominance in the national championship.

Football Scandal and Future

In early November 2014, during a match against his former team, 'Hapoel Tel Aviv,' a fan broke onto the field and began verbally and physically assaulting Zahavi in front of a crowd of thousands. In an attempt to defend himself, Zahavi awkwardly kicked the fan, resulting in a red card being shown to him. The match had to be stopped due to the uproar from the stands.

The incident sparked numerous debates and opinions in the press, with some criticizing the fan and others defending the footballer. The 'Jerusalem Post' took a neutral stance, refraining from assigning blame but labeling the day as one of the saddest in the history of Israeli football. They expressed hope that in the future, fans would understand that the football field is meant for playing football, not for personal conflicts.

Despite the controversy, Zahavi's career continued to flourish, and he remained a key player for 'Maccabi Tel Aviv' and the Israeli national team. As one of the most successful Israeli footballers of recent times, Zahavi's skills and contributions to his teams have solidified his place in the history of Israeli football.
