Eugene Beauharnais was the Vice King of Italy and a divisional general. He was the stepson of Napoleon and the only son of Napoleon's first wife, Josephine Beauharnais. Early Life and Career
Eugene was born on September 3, 1781, in Paris, France. He was the son of Josephine Tascher de la Pagerie and Alexandre de Beauharnais. When his mother married Napoleon Bonaparte in 1796, Eugene became his stepson.
In 1804, at the age of 23, Eugene was appointed as a Prince of the French Empire. The following year, he became the Vice King of Italy and a divisional general. He played a significant role in governing Italy, implementing the Civil Code, reorganizing the army, and improving infrastructure and education. Despite his young age, Eugene earned the love and respect of the Italian people.
Titles and Achievements
Throughout his life, Eugene held several titles and achieved notable accomplishments. From 1804 to 1814, he was a Prince of France, Vice King of Italy, Prince of Venice, and Grand Duke of Frankfurt. In 1817, he became the Duke of Leuchtenberg and the Prince of Eichstätt.
Eugene was recognized for his military achievements and received prestigious honors. On February 1, 1805, he was awarded the title of Divisional General. On February 2, 1805, he became a member of the Legion of Honor, and on June 7, 1805, he was appointed as the Vice King of Italy.

On January 14, 1806, Eugene married Augusta Amalia of Bavaria in Munich, Bavaria. They had seven children together. Their children included Josephine Maximiliane Eugenie Napoleon (married to King Oscar I of Sweden and Norway), Eugenie Hortense Augusta, Auguste Charles Eugene Napoleon (Duke of Leuchtenberg and Duke of Santa Cruz), Amelie Augusta Eugenie Napoleon (married to Emperor Pedro I of Brazil), Theodelinda Louise Eugenie Augusta Napoleon, Caroline Clotilde, and Maximilian Leuchtenberg (Duke of Leuchtenberg and Prince Romanovsky).
