Biography of Yevgeny Komarovsky

Yevgeny Komarovsky is a pediatrician, a candidate of medical sciences, and a doctor of the highest category. He is the author of numerous scientific works, as well as popular science articles and books, the most famous of which is "The Health of a Child and the Common Sense of His Relatives," which has been reprinted more than 15 times in Russia and Ukraine. Dr. Komarovsky lives and works in Kharkiv.

Early Life and Education

Yevgeny Komarovsky graduated from the Kharkiv Medical Institute, Pediatric Faculty. In 1983, he started working at the Regional Children's Infectious Clinical Hospital in Kharkiv. He initially worked as a doctor in the Reanimation Department and later became the head of the department, serving in that role for ten years.

Medical Career and Contributions

Since 2000, Dr. Komarovsky has been providing pediatric consultations at a private medical center. In 2006, he opened his own private medical center called "Komarovsky Clinic." He has made significant contributions to the field of pediatrics, particularly in the areas of infectious diseases in children and child healthcare.

In 1993, he published the monograph "Viral Croup in Children," which earned him the academic degree of candidate of sciences in 1996. His first popular science book, "The Beginning of Your Child's Life," was published in 1996. It was followed by "The Health of a Child and the Common Sense of His Relatives" in 2000, which became a logical continuation of his previous work. In 2002, he released the book "Disposable Diapers." In 2007, an updated and revised edition of "The Health of a Child..." was published.

Dr. Komarovsky has also written several other books, such as "Acute Respiratory Infections: A Guide for Thoughtful Parents," "Diary," "The Book on Cough," "The Book on Runny Nose," and "36 and 6 Questions about Temperature." He has also recorded an audiobook version of "The Beginning of Your Child's Life." Furthermore, he has authored the first part of the "Guidebook for Thoughtful Parents," which provides information relevant to all healthy children, including growth and development, tests and examinations, nutrition, and vaccinations. The second part of this parent's guide, "Emergency Assistance," was published in 2010.

Television Projects and Popularity

Dr. Komarovsky is well-known among parents due to his participation in numerous television shows and as a consultant in specialized programs. In March 2010, the television project "Dr. Komarovsky's School" was launched on the central Ukrainian television channel, Inter.

Parenting Methodology

Dr. Komarovsky's approach to child care and upbringing is characterized by simplicity, accessibility, effectiveness, and adaptation to modern conditions and the mentality of the people. It is for these reasons that he is often referred to as the "Ukrainian Spock."
