Biography of A.J. Cook
A.J. Cook is a Canadian film and television actress. She has been involved in the entertainment industry since childhood, initially pursuing dance. In high school, she participated in productions of "Romeo and Juliet" and "You Can't Take That With You."
In 1997, Cook made her first on-screen appearance in a McDonald's advertisement. She then went on to have small roles in films such as "Laserhawk" and "In His Father's Shoes," as well as TV series like "Goosebumps" and "PSI Factor."
However, it was in 1999 that Cook's luck took a turn for the better. She landed the role of Mary Lisbon, one of the beautiful Lisbon sisters, in Sofia Coppola's film "The Virgin Suicides," alongside Josh Hartnett, Kirsten Dunst, James Woods, and Kathleen Turner.
In 2000, Cook starred in the dramatic series "Higher Ground," portraying the character Shelby Merrick. Unfortunately, the show was canceled after its first season. In September 2001, Cook got married to musician Nathan Andersen, just two months after the release of the film "Final Destination," which was shot in Alaska and starred Caroline Dhavernas, Jason London, Zach Galifianakis, and Victoria Silvstedt.
In 2003, Cook had a successful box office hit with the film "Final Destination 2." She also appeared in the FOX series "Tru Calling," playing the role of Lindsey, Tru's best friend, in its first season. The final episode of the first season was titled "Two Weddings and a Funeral," in honor of Lindsey's two weddings and Tru's boyfriend's funeral. The series was canceled after its first season, but 5 episodes of the second season were later aired, without Cook's character.
In 2005, Cook began starring in the crime drama "Criminal Minds." She continued to appear in the series, which aired on CBS, and also appeared in films such as "I'm Reed Fish" and "Night Skies" in 2006.
