Venetian Entrepreneur and Politician
An Italian entrepreneur and politician, Giorgio Flavio Cazzolato was a prominent figure within the Venetian ethnic group.
Liga Veneta
In 1980, Cazzolato co-founded the federalist party Liga Veneta in Padua, Italy.
European Engagements
From 1982 to 1986, Cazzolato served as a member of the European Federalist Union (UEF) in Zurich, Switzerland. In 1993, he joined the National Council of the Free Association of Pro-Autonomy Entrepreneurs (ALIA), which later became the Free European Federalist Association of Entrepreneurs (LIFE) in 1995.
Italian Parliament
Cazzolato was elected to the Italian Parliament from 1996 to 2001, serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs. He also held membership in the first Italian-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Commission from 1997 to 2001.
Brussels Consultancy
In 2003 and 2004, Cazzolato worked as an independent accredited consultant in the European Parliament in Brussels.
Local Government Involvement
Throughout his career, Cazzolato actively participated in local government. He served on the administrative council of Treviso from 1985 to 1990 and held council seats in Montebelluna (1987-1991) and Mel-Belluno (1994-1998).
Humanitarian Mission
In December 2000, Cazzolato joined a delegation of 180 individuals from various countries to participate in a special humanitarian mission to Iraq under embargo, organized by Abbé Pierre and Jean-Marie Benjamin.
